About meMy name is Thedo André. I live in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. I have a general interest in aviation and modeling, but took up airshow photography a bit more seriously after a visit to the Flying Legends Airshow in 2008.
This show was a marvelous experience for obvious reasons, but also because of the unique and beautiful sky backdrop that day. All I had then was a Nikon D50 with an old analog 70-210 zoom lens. The autofocus hardly worked and I had to set the exposure manually. I nevertheless managed to pull off some good shots worth to keep. I subsequently bought a 70-300 Nikon zoom lens and started experimenting with my first panning shots. Just before the Dutch Air Force Open Days I upgraded to a Nikon D300 and Sigma 50-500mm (now replaced by a D7500 and Nikon 80-400 f/4.5-5.6G ED VR). I hope you can see some improvement since then.
